On July 25, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR, also known as the National Standards Commission) revised and released the national standard "General Technical Requirements for Kitchen and Bathroom Hardware Products." This standard will officially take effect on January 1, 2025, and categorizes kitchen and bathroom hardware products into water supply, water drainage, and other categories. It stipulates general basic performance requirements for products, including surface performance, electrical performance, and control of harmful substance release, as well as detailed functional requirements and requirements for elderly-friendliness specific to various product types.
The revision and release of this standard provide important guidelines and norms for the production, inspection, and sales of kitchen and bathroom hardware products, helping to improve product quality, protect consumer rights, and promote the healthy development of the kitchen and bathroom hardware industry.
